Spherion Technology 3825 Hopyard Rd, Pleasanton, CA 94588 Hired in December, 1996 as a Help Desk Consultant delivering services at Genentech Inc. As a member of this team I provided for over three thousand customers using nearly nine thousand computers in a wide range of applications and platforms. This included troubleshooting servers and an LAN using Macintosh, Win 95, NT 4.0 and UNIX operating systems.

-Promoted In October 1997 to the Platinum Support Group providing telephone and desktop resolution to the executive management team.

In August of 1999 I transferred to MicroComputerSystems, providing second level desktop support to the general population of users at Genentech. I requested this move due to the limited customer base and lack of professional challenge. I prefer a broader base of customers and issues. Additionally, In August of 2000, I began delivering services for the more specific and time critical needs of Corporate Communications.

In 2001-2 I trained with Apple as a desktop support trouble-shooter for the first corporate migration to Macintosh OSX which was done for over 2K users.

-Authored and implemented an empathy based customer service training class for the support staff.

Teaching

In the 1996-97 school year I made myself available as a substitute teacher in computer education. I have taught at St. Mark’s School in San Rafael.

-Sausalito School District NorthBay School • Marin City, CA 94965

In the 1995-96 school year contracted with the Sausalito School district to operate, maintain and support the Computer Lab at the North Bay School. Job responsibilities included providing instruction to middle school students.

While teaching at North Bay I became involved with The Just Think Foundation in Sausalito. I helped bring a media literacy project to my classroom and volunteered in videographing student projects and digitizing them for inclusion in a CD-ROM produced by the students. This was much more of a trick in 1995.

Auto Mechanics-Building Trades

I have worked as a professional Auto mechanic from 1966 thru 1994 in Columbus Ohio; Boston, MA; San Francisco, CA; and Marin Co, CA. In the Early 90's I owned a five-Bay repair facility in San Rafael, CA called The Redwing Garage.

Concurrently I have worked as a construction helper and have worked as a plumber, electrician, floor refinisher, ceramic tile installer whenever the auto trades got slow. I have remodeled a garage into a two room unit complete with interior walls, power, telephone, cable and Internet as recently as 2003.

I have also worked on irrigation systems, self-regulated water systems, solar collectors both electrical and thermal and a variety of electro-mechanical systems.
